Artist Biography

Originally art was something I did when I was indoors while growing up. If I wasn’t doing sport I was probably watching cartoons or drawing characters from them. At first I thought I wanted to study architecture but eventually my love for art returned. It was after a period of boxing and competing in Mixed martial arts. I completed a Bachelor of Fine Arts at Griffith University in 2017 as a mature age student, since then I have had three group exhibitions and two solo exhibitions including “Too Human” and “Forlorn Vulture.” I was awarded a book prize from QAGOMA for best presentation at the graduation (Griffith university), I was also awarded best oil painting at the Brisbane Rotary Art Spectacular in 2019. My practise involves comparing the complexities in painting with social engagements. Some of my influences stem from the post-impressionists and cubist periods, artists like Paul Cezanne, George Braque and The Ashcan School. Also, Australian Artist such as Kevin Lincoln, John Brack and Russell Drysdale have been a major influence on my practise.
